Spent last night knocking out the last of my achievements needed for the Blood and Madness content. Not bad. Not that I got anything out of it to jump up and down about. But, I like getting achievements done. Cuz I'm a geek like that.
Also managed to knock out Weyandt's Revenge jumping puzzle. Lion's Arch puzzle where you follow the strange talking light. Now, a lot of people might not consider it particularly difficult. But this was one I had tried to do SEVERAL times before. With no success. With the help of a youtube video and a stubborn streak (100 miles wide) I managed to get it done last night.
The people who got me started playing this game, who have seen me play over the course of this game… know how challenging jumping puzzles can be for me. I sometimes have an extreme lack of coordination. To the point of being ridiculous sometimes. Seriously! The first year, or so spent playing this game I did a lot of failed jumping and a lot of falling off of shit and dying. Not purposely. I have to say, it has been quite awhile (knocks on wood) that I have done that accidentally. Sometimes purposely I'll jump to my death now days. Say if I'm mobbed by a bunch of baddies and going to die anyway if there is a good sized drop nearby there is a good chance I'll throw myself to my death. Saves you from armor repair.
Even in getting better, I still struggle sometimes with jumping puzzle. In particular the timed jumps and especially if you add in timed jumps where you have to turn back and forth, change directions quickly. I'm more of a compulsive planner when it comes to my jumping, trying to make sure I'm going to land exactly where I want to land. That being said, finishing that puzzle has made me want to invest some time in jumping puzzles again, to knock out the achievements. I don't know that I'll ever beat the Mad King puzzle, tried that a few times this time around before I got disgruntled and quit. Will probably try again, maybe, before the content ends again. Like I said, I'm stubborn.
Long story short, if you want to work on jumping puzzles together shoot me a message. Like I said, I'm not great at it. But if we head to a puzzle together I won't get my feelings hurt if you leave me behind lol. Also there are some puzzles I don't have huge problems with. So if there are some you need help with finding your way through I'm willing to try to lead if I can.
As always, message me on here or in game and we can find a time to meet up and give it a go.
