To get us started here, I thought I'd share with you a lil 'bout me: I started playing GW2 during the first beta weekend, and created the guild [ISIS] immediately at launch, with 2 personal friends of mine - JeanneP and Loubell. I was an avid GW1 player since April of 2005 until the launch of GW2. My first online RPG game was Ultima Online, which I started playing in 1997 and played for just over 5 years. I created and ran a guild named Celestial Lights during this time. I also am a fan and gamer (though diminishing over the last several titles) of the Call of Duty games. I currently play Black Ops 2 online, but only for PC. In real life, I'm a digital artist, sci-fantasy writer, and I review other writer's and artist's work. I've had my own personal website since 1999 named Annacloud9.com, which is a never ending work in progress! I've been a member of Epilogue.net and deviantArt.com for a few years now, and I greatly dislike Facebook.  I've also been karaoke'ing since 1989, my first time at a state fair in a tiny recording booth, which was embarrassing at first since I didn't know everyone outside the booth could hear me! Since then I've hosted many shows, dabbled in owning my own company, and hit well over 50 locations with my singing. *ahem* Anyway, there ya go! |

So, introduce myself, huh? OK!
I've been playing GW2 since day One, including most of the Betas. Depending on the week, I am very active or not active at all. Lately I've been trying to get on most days even if it's just to get my daily achievements.
I did play a little GW1, but mainly just to get some achievements for the Hall of Monuments.
After the Beta sessions of GW2, I thought I knew which characters I wanted to build and which I would most likely play the most.
I knew I wanted an Asura Mesmer & a Charr Warrior. I did create those characters (Tempest Horn and Rocky Ward) but it turned out other characters were the ones I played the most.
My favorite character, mostly because of her weapon skills is my human Ranger Ambrielle. I like to create a fire ring and then throw my axe through it at enemies. I also like the barrage and knock-back of my longbow.
Then, I have my Norn Guardian Radius Steele. (I was so proud of myself when I came up with that name! lol) He likes to breathe fire or swing around his big...greatsword!
Finally, my newest character I created and have been working on is Monika, a human thief. She uses dual pistols or leaps in to attack with dual daggers.
Other than GW2, I don't really play online games, unless you count Pogo Boggle and other Pogo games.
I did really like Portal 2 on PS3 and bought Borderlands 2 on PS3 as an early Christmas present for myself last Thanksgiving weekend.
I like to write poetry, but not always stuff I'm willing to share. My writing goes in spurts, when I'm inspired I may write several poems.
I enjoy listening to lots of different kinds of music and have been known to buy a whole CD (YES, I said CD, not I-tunes) when I hear one song from an artist I like. If you just buy the one song, you may never get to hear all of the other great tunes an artist has created. Two examples: Adele's 21 and Sick Puppies' Connect
I am also not a fan of Facebook. But to be fair, I haven't ever had a profile, just know enough about it. My infamous quote to a friend of mine about 4 years ago: He asked me, "Jeanne, are you my friend on Facebook?" I answered, "No Scott, I'm your friend in real life!" (And just as an aside, if you have to ASK me whether I'm your Facebook friend, you have just proved one of my points about it!)
Well that's all I got right now, but I think it's plenty!

About me... Hmmm. Well, I started playing GW2 back in February. My awesome husband bought it for a Christmas gift for me. Before that, I'd played WoW for 9 years. After some of the updates, I started looking for something new. Ninja Pandas... really? My husband took a gamble that I'd be able to trade WoW for GW2 and he was right. I had given up all gaming for awhile because being a Mom took up all my time. I'm happy to be getting back into gaming but it's hard to get on every night. Outside GW2, I can be found shouting at dragons in Skyrim. In real life, I'm an IT nerd. I spend my days fixing computers and servers and spend plenty of my spare time doing that too. I love watching any sci-fi TV. The hubby and I recently discovered Battlestar Galatica. I'm eagerly awaiting the return of Doctor Who and the BBC's Sherlock. Most of my real life time is devoted to my twin daughters who are turning 3. It's a 2nd full time job being their Mom.  One of them likes to "help" me play GW2. I once left the PC unattended and walked back in to find her eagerly killing a spider with my guardian. Looks like were going to need another GW2 account soon... I'm a huge fan of Facebook. I've learned to tweak it so I only see what I want, and avoid all the rest. Plus, I get to convince myself that I'm friends with 220 people.  |

I love Doctor Who. Not a huge fan of remakes, movies or TV. So I'm a classic fan, so to speak. On the PBS.

A little about me... I started playing GW2 shortly after it launched, having never played GW1. Previously my gaming experience was mostly Nintendo, PS or x-box related. X-box was mostly Call of Duty or Rainbox Six Vegas, although I did for awhile get into playing Phantasy Star Universe which was an online RPG. In the last 2 years have gotten into trying gaming on the PC, some successful others not so successful. Soooo not good at Call of Duty on PC, but still fun. Update... trading in the Xbox for a PS3. Starting off in GW2 I made up 5 initial characters: Tobi (Norn Ranger), Twila (Sylvari Guardian), Alli (Human Necromancer), Loubelle (Asura Elementalist) and Speckles (Charr Warrior). Tobi was the one I played through to 80 first. Seemed easier having the pets, for times when I play solo. Did manage recently to get the last of the original 5 up to level 80. I decided at that point that I wanted to be able to try out the other jobs. So far I've added Katt (Human Thief, Tobi's red headed step sister) and Minka (Charr Mesmer, Speckles little sister). Have now added a final character (for now anyway) an Asuran engineer named Dudley Spotz. In the non-gaming part of my life, I work in Sales/Marketing for a small company. I also am an artist, painting and mixed media pieces mostly. Also into photography, and writing. I've been a member at Deviant Art for the last few years. I am on facebook, both with a personal page and a page for my art. Struggling for years with social anxiety, I unfortunately found social media to be a bit addicting. Also on Twitter (@tonilou74), and have a blog. I enjoy listening to a wide variety of music, and over the last few years have vastly expanded my musical library. I have been told that my itunes library is a bit skitzo, where as I tend to view myself as being non-genre-tional (e.i. I just can't put myself as a fan of one type of music). Not sure what else to add... P.S. sometimes I ramble. Because I'm a dork... I'm adding pictures of my crew. I leveled my 5 originals and have since added 4 alts. ok well gw1 was my first online game lol no really it was stop laughing at me  . started it in 2006 and never stopped i still go there from time to time but gw2 is my second love, my wifes my first(cough cough,, she makes me say that.) been in gw2 from the start preordered and waiting like a mad man on crack for a release date lol. other games im a huge elder scrolls fan played them all got them all, wont be doing the elder scrolls online though i dont like subscriptions, i got kids to feed and a guild wars gem habit!!!! as to real life im an event manager for a company that sets up and runs events for fortune 500 companies, i work oout of state 3-4 days a week spend my days off with my kids in the morning my wife in the afternoon and gw in the night time hours, thats about it im pretty simple. ((...oh and i like to read books take long walks on the beach and have pillow fights!,,)) kidding kidding i only like pillow fights. thanks for having me |

Gw2 isn't my first mmo, but having played many f2p games (mainly Rusty Hearts, which hasn't seen an update in about a year now, sad), and finally deciding to start gw2 as my main online game, I've yet to have regrets. I actually only bought the game 3 months ago, from the time of this post, so I'm relatively new to the game. Other than that, I used to play tons of StarCraft, as well as random games on my PS3. I'm a JRPG and fighting game junky lol. To be quite honest, gw2 was a "spur of the moment" purchase while buying groceries at a local walmart lol.
I wanted a speedy character to start off with, so I basically decided "no" on warrior classes because I thought they would be slow and bulky, and "no" on mages because I figured they would have to spend time enchanting and casting. (Turns out I was wrong and every single job is relatively quick) I ended up making a ranger because they could use both swords and shortbows (I think thieves can as well) but in the end I went with ranger. (I love shortbows, because of their rate of fire) I named my character Furaea because everything else I tried was already taken, and it was kind of a random name at best. I wish I had thought of a last name for her. I do have a level 2 elementalist, but I'll get to playing her as soon as I'm satisfied with Furaea.
Regarding my real life, I just finished college and like many others, couldn't get a job in what I've studied, so I've been working a customer service rep job for the past year.
As for facebook: I have one, but I haven't used it in over a year. As nice as my friends are, some of the things they say got repetitive lol. And since they all have my contact information, I figured they can just text or call me if they wanted to talk lol.
I'm usually playing gw2 everyday, but I just recently moved, so I've had no net for a while. I did just sign up for internet with comcast, so I will be back online here shortly. Till then, mcdonalds wifi ftw!
Update:
Oh, and I have internet now. Yay!

First off, thanks for the invite to the guild! I've only had the pleasure of meeting two members so far. Jeanne and Loubell, but they were great and very kind. I've been a MMO player for a very long time.. One of the first games I can remember playing was Ultima Online. After that I played a game called NexusTK, most people have never heard of it but I enjoyed it for many years. Also played Darkages, made by the same company as Nexus. I played Everquest since it was in Beta and enjoyed playing that for about 8 years. Once WoW came out I jumped to that, graphically it was very appealing after playing EQ for so long. I played that for many years also, once they started coming out with certain expansions and things started getting a little out of whack I stopped playing MMO's and didn't really play much of anything for about a year. I never got the chance to play GW1 but a friend of mind recently told me about GW2 and said it was pretty amazing. Other than the original reason it grabbed my attention (no monthly fee), it turned out to be, like my friend said, pretty amazing. My only character I really play is my Asura Engineer, I love the play style and I will probably reach level 80 before I even try out something else  Some personal info about me. My name is Eric, I'm 29 years old, have 2 little girls 3 and 5, named Kaydence and Kirra. I also have been dealing with social anxiety for quite some time, I don't have it as bad as some people I know, but it can, and has, affected my daily life. I am currently working for an electrical company installing everything for hotels and apartments. I am in school and almost finished for Respiratory Therapy. I hope to find a career in that field once I'm done. I was in the Army for 8 years, was deployed twice. I wasn't a "lifer" I am very family oriented and I wasn't having enough time to spend with my little girls and decided to leave and start my education and new path in life Guess that should cover a few basics lol. There was so much pressure after reading all the great introductions on here, didn't want to leave some tiny little intro hah. Well I hope to see ya all in game and have some fun! |

Welcome. And please, don't ever feel any pressure from the guild. lol. We're a pretty relaxed group, only asking that people are respectful of other members. Everybody's pretty helpful when they can be to do what we can as a guild. |
